Driving on the Fast Track

Have you ever played the board game Ca$hflow? This educational game was created by Robert Kiyosaki to teach financial literacy. The whole premise of the game is to get out of the Rat Race, and onto the Fast Track. To start the game, everyone is given an occupation; a doctor, a lawyer, a janitor, and other jobs. Each job has a certain salary and a certain set of expenses commensurate on what we think those occupations carry. While a lawyer may have a high income, they also carry a high debt load. The "scorecard" is a basic financial statement where you measure your progress.

When it's your turn, you roll the dice and go round and round in this tight little circle on the game board, with your pip landing on various "opportunities". Each opportunity enables you to take an incremental step towards achieving passive income. You get to make the decision whether to take advantage of the opportunity, take a step towards increasing your passive income, with the primary goal to hit a level of passive income that completely exceeds your total expenses. Along the way, as you spin in the circle, there are setbacks that stall your drive towards passive income, but such are things in this game we call life. Once your passive income exceeds your expenses, you are in the fast track. The first one that gets into the Fast Track wins, although the game is set so everybody wins. Everyone can attain the Fast Track, if you take advantage of the opportunities that arrive in your path. At that point, you no longer have to go to a job where they'd replace you tomorrow if they could. You are in control of your own destiny. And by being in the fast track, bigger and better opportunities come to you. You attract opportunities because opportunities are attracted to you. I don't know how that happens. I just know it happens.

Right now, you may be spinning in the rat race. You roll the dice, go to work, land on unfortunate setbacks, and often overlook or ignore those opportunities that can put you in the fast lane towards the Fast Track. Before you know it, 10 years have passed and you look up and wonder where the time went, and you are behind on your financial goals and other promises.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
- Time by Pink Floyd

I'm telling you to run. I'm pulling the trigger on the starting gun. I got started a little late, but you don't have to. I'm running twice as fast today to catch up to where I should be. No more tight circles. No more looping around the board mired in the rat race. The time is now to take that step towards your financial independence and fulfilling your dreams and promises.

Passively investing in non-performing promissory notes might be the avenue for you to navigate. By joint venturing with my company, we can find the right vehicle to negotiate the terrain and put lack in the rear view mirror. If you have some investment capital or a IRA that is stuck in the mud, let's talk this week and see if this just might get you out of the starting gate, and a step towards the fast track.

Thanks for reading. I like driving fast with the top down. There's plenty of room in the passenger seat. Let's do this.   ~ Cody
