Bleak Outlook for Homes Sales: The Commerce Department said sales of new homes were near 47-year lows in July, albeit up from an all-time low in May. An analysis story in the Journal said the supply of new and existing homes is expected to grow in the months ahead as construction ramps up and a wave of foreclosed homes hits the market.
