The Secret to Success is Simple, Set Goals!

Goals as One of the Secrets to Achieving Success.

By: National Note Group

Let’s be honest, we all want to know the secret to success! Some people spend their time asking others “what’s the secret” searching for the easy way out instead of going through the process and finding out on their own. Others genuinely ask because they have no clue. The problem is everyone is scrutinizing to closely instead of looking at the bigger picture. Being successful comes differently to each of us. However, the one thing in common for everyone is that success starts with the basic step of goal setting. To know where you want to go you have to take a step back to see where you are standing right now. Goals help in more ways than one and there doesn’t have to be much to it. Granted, setting goals is tedious and most people aren’t a fan of establishing them, but once they try it out they see the huge difference it makes.

There is no right way to establish a goal but once set, strive to achieve it. Why set goals in the note business? What goals can be set in this industry? Well for starters, because organization is key in this business, this strategy will help facilitate the note buying process such as handling documentation, volume of notes, which notes to buy, etc. And organization results in a less chaotic mind. Also, feeling anxious and stressed is a problem that results from a lack of control, feeling like nothing is going the way you want it to. Studies show that if you create goals and seek to complete them, you will start to feel like you have a grip on things and you’re in control of your own outcomes. In addition, achieving goals gives people a self-satisfaction. Goal setting can even help someone feel better about themselves, increase performance, stabilize   relationships with family or partners, as well as their company as in general.

If you are part of a company and or have partners, NNG encourages you to create company goals. Start by setting weekly goals, then monthly, and lastly yearly ones. Figure out what it is that you really want! How many notes would you like to buy by the end of this year? How much cash flow would you like to generate monthly? What can you do to increase your clientele? Where would your like your company to be by mid-year? What tasks need to be completed by the end of this week? Think of personal and company goals you want to establish and figure out which ones you want to complete in a given time frame. If you have to write them on post-it notes or on your computer, do it! Other ways to remind yourself of your goals could be by writing them on your mirrors, creating a company success list or share them with your coworkers and or partners. Once you have completed a goal congratulate yourself and acknowledge the work and determination you put in. Stay focused on reaching your goals. Remember though, they are meant to help you, not stress you so don’t overwhelm yourself or feel like you have to achieve them all at once. Pace yourself! It can help to organize your goals by priority level. By managing your list and maintaining it clear and up-to-date you will see that goal setting is fairly easy. No obstacle will seem too difficult to achieve!
